Finding the Best Toner Cartridges for your Printer
What happens when the toner cartridge in your printer runs out? Your
printer may start printing patchy or poorer quality. The light may start
flashing telling you to change the toner cartridge. The toner cartridge may
just stop working all together leaving you with no way of printing.
We stock
every toner cartridge on the market so you never have to worry about this. Toner Cartridges can be expensive so making
sure you order the correct one is important.
Toner Cartridges
A toner cartridge is a cartridge that contains toner powder and fits
into your laser printer. Sometimes your toner cartridge will have a built in
drum unit or sometimes you may have to insert your toner cartridge into one.
Once installed your toner cartridge will register as a new one in your laser
printer and you can start printing again.
How Often do I Need to Replace My Toner Cartridge?
Every toner cartridge will a have different page yield. Toner
Cartridges often provide a much higher print capacity than an ink cartridge. Your
laser printer will typically come with a ‘starter’ toner cartridge which
usually has a lower print yield than the normal toner cartridge so purchasing a
toner cartridge as a spare is very important.
Laser Printers can also have a
number of different yield toner cartridges that will fit into it. The toner
cartridge you should choose is down to how much you print. An extra high yield
toner cartridge is more expensive than a standard yield toner cartridge but
will provide a lower cost per page.
Toner Cartridges, what colour?
There are 2 different types of laser printer in terms of colour
output. A mono laser printer which only uses a black toner cartridge and a
colour laser printer which uses a black toner cartridge, a cyan toner
cartridge, a magenta toner cartridge and a yellow toner cartridge.
If your colour laser printer runs out of just
one colour toner cartridge, than you can’t carry on printing in just black if
you have a black toner cartridge installed. You would need to replace the
colour toner cartridge you ran out of.
Unlike Ink Printers , toner cartridges don’t tend to ‘dry up’ so
once installed the printer will usually keep the toner cartridges in good,
working order. A toner cartridge doesn’t
contain a liquid but a dry powder. From time to time, the toner powder can
clump together in your toner cartridge but just remove it and give the toner
cartridge a gentle shake from side to side will usually have the toner
cartridge up and printing quality once again.
